Christ is risen! Indeed He is risen!
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
As this joyful season of the resurrection of Christ moves us to the ascension of Christ and to the fulfillment of His promise to send thenHoly Spirit, we also are coming to the end of another school year and graduations, and summer is almost here!
I am sorry that I could not send out an earlier message, as I am trying to work on the summer calendar and get some commitments for summer events. I hope that this week I can send out a more detailed message with an updated calendar through the end of July.
For now I am sharing with you below the liturgical schedule for the next two weeks here at St. Basil’s (and Tulsa and Waco)
Please note that this Thursday is the feast of the Ascension of Our Lord and a solemn feast day. You have two opportunities to keep this feast liturgically, either on Wednesday evening at 7pm with the Melkite community or on Thursday at 7pm with our St. Basil’s community.
Finally I would like to ask you to remember our previous administrator Fr. Christopher Andrews OSB in your prayers. Fr. Christopher was diagnosed with cancer last week however it was detected early and his prognosis is excellent. He asks for our prayers as he goes through the medical treatment. I assured him that he would be remembered in every Liturgy at St. Basil’s and in our daily prayers.
I wish you a blessed weekend and happy Ascension!
Christ is risen!
Fr. Elias
