Glory to Jesus Christ!
Dear parishioners and friends,
This weekend we have the extraordinary privilege to witness the presbyteral ordination of Fr. Deacon Brian Norrell. One of our own, a fellow parishioner from St. Basil’s, Fr. Deacon Brian will be presented to Metropolitan William for ordination and we will all exclaim “Axios! “ (he is worthy!). What joy!
The hierarchical Divine Liturgy will be live streamed so all parishioners can follow, from home, from vacation travels or in person.
If you have not signed up to bring something for the luncheon after the Liturgy, please go to our website or Facebook group where you can volunteer and see what items we are still in need of.
Newly ordained Fr. Brian will serve his first Divine Liturgy on Monday evening, the eve of the feast of St. Macrina, the Younger, sister of St. Basil the Great. She is also the patron Saint of our Basilian Sisters and their motherhouse at Mount Saint Macrina. All are warmly invited to participate in the Liturgy with Fr. Brian.
There are a couple of other announcements:
The Campion Players will present A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare on Saturday at 7pm in the Social Hall. This performance is free and open to all parishioners. The poster is attached below.
On Saturday, August 13 we will have another Pysanky Workshop led by Toni Ford Tritchka. Please register so that we have a precise count for materials and food. The flier is attached below. If you have any questions, please contact Toni Ford Tritchka. Her email is on the flier below.
I would also like to thank all of you who have helped with preparing the hall and church for the visit of Metropolitan William and ordination of Fr. Deacon Brian. Although the heat was oppressive and the lack of AC in the hall further complicated the preparation, your help was essential and is very much appreciated. God bless you for being so generous with your time!
One final note, the AC is being worked on. The parts arrived on Tuesday and we pray the unit will be repaired and up and running by Friday!
In Christ,
Fr. Elias
